Boston College is establishing the Krantz Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Ethics, and Humanity, a transformative initiative enabled by a significant gift. The Institute aims to leverage BC's Jesuit, Catholic identity to explore the opportunities, implications, and challenges of artificial intelligence. It will inform discussions on AI and equip students with the judgment, wisdom, and critical thinking needed to become moral leaders and creators in the AI field, ensuring humanistic values and ethics remain central. The Executive Director will report to the Provost and Dean of Faculties and will be responsible for building the Institute into a national and global leader in AI teaching, research, and discussion, while also scaling foundational and applied AI initiatives across the university's nine schools and colleges. This role involves working with faculty, academic leadership, and external partners to develop a sustainable, world-class hub of institutional excellence.
