The Alberta Public Service works to build a stronger province for current and future generations. The Ministry of Public Safety and Emergency Services (“PSES”) has significant oversight and involvement in public security and emergency services through its various divisions and operations. The department is responsible for the administration of law enforcement, correctional services, policing and police oversight and public safety. The Ministry supports crime prevention and restorative justice programs, as well as programs and services to support victims of crime including those affected by domestic violence and human trafficking. The Ministry also coordinates large scale emergency and disaster prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery programs and initiatives through the Alberta Emergency Management Agency (AEMA). The Alberta Sheriffs Police Service (ASPS) was created in July 2025, and once operational, will strengthen Alberta’s existing policing model and complement the province’s current police services, which includes the RCMP, Indigenous policing services and municipal police. It will help fill gaps and ensure law enforcement resources are deployed efficiently to meet Alberta’s evolving public safety needs and improve law enforcement response times, particularly in rural communities. Accountable to the Chief, the Executive Director Information & Technology (IT) is a strategic and operational leader responsible for leading, designing and implementing IT governance and systems for the Alberta Sheriffs Police Service (ASPS). As a member of the ASPS executive team the Executive Director is responsible for building and managing IT infrastructure and IT systems for ASPS. This role is central to ensuring the Service’s IT environment, equipment, and IT operations are accountable, scalable, meet provincial policing standards, are fiscally responsible, and support safe, modern, and responsive police service delivery. You bring executive level competencies, including adaptability, agility, and inclusive, decisive leadership.
