About The Position

Solid Biosciences is a precision genetic medicine company focused on advancing a portfolio of gene therapy candidates targeting rare neuromuscular and cardiac diseases, including Duchenne muscular dystrophy (Duchenne), Friedreich’s ataxia (FA), catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT), TNNT2-mediated dilated cardiomyopathy, BAG3-mediated dilated cardiomyopathy, and additional fatal, genetic cardiac diseases. We are advancing a diverse pipeline and delivery platform in the pursuit of uniting experts in science, technology, disease management, and care. Patient-focused and founded by those directly impacted by Duchenne, Solid’s mission is to improve the daily lives of patients living with devastating rare diseases. We are seeking a strategic and externally focused Executive Director, Global Market Development (Friedreich’s Ataxia) to lead the development and execution of Solid’s global key opinion leader (KOL) strategy for the FA program. This individual will play a critical role in shaping global external engagement, deepening scientific and clinical partnerships, and accelerating awareness and preparedness for Solid’s gene therapy programs. The role has a strong international focus, particularly across Europe, with exploratory engagement in the Middle East, and will require extensive global travel.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent preferred)
  • 15+ years in biotech/pharma with demonstrated global KOL experience
  • Rare disease or neuromuscular expertise preferred
  • Experience in European markets required
  • Gene therapy and clinical development knowledge
  • German and/or French fluency preferred
  • Ability to travel 40–60%

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a global KOL engagement strategy for Friedreich’s Ataxia
  • Build relationships with neurologists, cardiologists, geneticists, and FA experts globally
  • Map treatment centers, hospitals, and academic institutions
  • Partner with Medical Affairs and Opinion Leader Programming to generate actionable insights
  • Execute advisory boards and scientific engagements
  • Represent Solid at global congresses
  • Support clinical site identification and readiness
  • Ensure compliance with global regulatory standards
