The Executive Director, Facilities & Operations advises appropriate managing staff of short- and long-term changes necessary to keep facilities in physical compliance with regulatory demands. This role maintains documentation in proper order for state and local regulatory inspections, and develops and maintains facilities’ annual operating budgets. The position advances and enforces operational procedures and best practices, ensuring staff compliance. It also oversees facility lease negotiations, and the payment of utilities and rent, ensuring all work areas meet quality, safety, and compliance standards. Furthermore, the role ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. This includes creating an effective control environment, conducting risk assessment, and implementing and monitoring controls.
