About The Position

Sodexo is seeking an experienced Executive Chef 3 for Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI. This role will oversee culinary operations within a healthcare environment, leading a team of 6–12 frontline associates and supervisors. The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of culinary excellence and operational discipline, with a proven ability to manage administrative functions, drive catering growth, and enhance the patient dining experience.

Requirements

  • Strong administrative and operational management experience
  • Experience in catering operations with a focus on growing volume and revenue
  • Proven expertise in inventory management and purchasing controls
  • Strong experience with HR functions including hiring, training, compliance, and employee counseling
  • Client-facing skills with experience in patient or guest interaction (rounding)
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years minimum management experience
  • 3 years minimum functional experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily culinary operations, ensuring high quality food production and presentation
  • Directly supervise 6–12 employees, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management
  • Drive catering program growth, focusing on expanding this key revenue stream
  • Manage inventory, purchasing, and cost controls to meet financial targets
  • Oversee scheduling and labor management to optimize productivity
  • Ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation, and HACCP protocols
  • Partner with clinical and operations teams to conduct patient rounding and improve patient satisfaction
  • Maintain compliance with HR policies, including employee relations, corrective actions, and training initiatives
