About The Position

Come join our growing team at Sodexo as an Executive Chef 2 at Penn State Health located in Lancaster, PA. The Executive Chef will manage and support the "At Your Request" Patient Dining program for this 129-bed facility. Executive leaders at Sodexo are innovative, talent driven and manage our offerings to clients by creating partnerships that result in a rewarding experience. In this role you will lead a team of about 40 hourly employees, assist in prepping and cooking quality meals, maintain cleanliness and sanitation, direct chefs and/or cooks in proper cooking while providing top level service and embodying our core values of Spirit of Progress, Team Spirit and Spirit of Service.

Requirements

  • have a work history demonstrating strong employee engagement leadership skills, as well as previous supervisory experience and the ability to work collaboratively
  • have culinary production experience and a strong background in safety and sanitation compliance
  • can manage multiple priorities, demonstrate professional communication skills, and a passion for a high level of customer service
  • are enthusiastic and confident
  • ability to drive employee success to enhance the value of the food and nutrition team
  • prioritize tasks and exhibit flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as needed
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years Minimum Management Experience
  • 2 years Minimum Functional Experience - work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily food production across patient dining, café, and catering
  • Manage production planning and operational controls
  • Ensure compliance with Sodexo culinary standards, recipes, and food quality
  • Monitor and control labor and food costs
  • Develop menus and manage inventory
  • Oversee food cost management
