About The Position

Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 2 for East Texas Baptist University, located in Marshall, TX. ETBU is a private, Christian university. We are seeking a Chef who is passionate about people AND food! This Chef reports directly to the General Manager and will assume GM duties in his absence. Our Executive Chef will be responsible for Resident Dining and Catering, as well as training all culinary staff. Sodexo provides college campuses with food, nutrition, environmental, and facilities management solutions. Requirements

Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
2 years minimum management experience
2 years minimum functional experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards
Strong coaching and employee development skills
Passion for food and innovation

Responsibilities

Responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting
Ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented
Develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations
Ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance
Have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
Assume GM duties in his absence
Responsible for Resident Dining and Catering
Training all culinary staff
