About The Position

Sodexo is seeking an Executive Chef 2 for Upson Regional Medical Center in Thomaston, GA. This role will support a team of frontline culinary associates and be responsible for all back-of-the-house operations in retail, catering, and patient services. The Executive Chef is responsible for maintaining high-volume kitchen operations, directing the preparation of meals in accordance with corporate programs and guidelines. This is a high-impact, high-visibility position responsible for enhancing patient satisfaction and the retail customer dining experience through culinary creativity, food presentation, and overall leadership presence.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years minimum management experience.
  • 2 years minimum functional experience in food or culinary services (restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.).
  • Strong culinary background with demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of standards and implement company policies.
  • Strong management skills and previous experience working in a high-volume facility.
  • Servsafe certified.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP.
  • Experience with Health and Safety audits.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and report management experience.
  • Working knowledge of Sodexo Food Management Systems (FMS) and Market Connections (MSC).

Nice To Haves

  • C.E.C. (Certified Executive Chef) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Oversight of daily food operations and delivery of a high-quality product.
  • Directly manage retail, patient feeding, and catering chefs, as well as the purchasing and catering manager.
  • Maintain high-volume kitchen operations.
  • Direct the preparation of meals in accordance with corporate programs and guidelines.
  • Enhance patient satisfaction and retail customer dining experience through culinary creativity, food presentation, and overall leadership presence.
