About The Position

Sodexo is hiring an Executive Chef position for Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado. The successful candidate will oversee the culinary operations of campus Catering. The ideal candidate must be highly flexible and ready to accommodate diverse customer requests. We are looking for a visionary leader with a background in fine dining or high-end catering who can partner closely with the client to create memorable, world-class dining experiences in a fast-paced, professional environment.

Requirements

  • a ServSafe certification
  • a valid driver's license
  • High Volume Catering Experience
  • a strong culinary background in catering, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
  • excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards
  • strong coaching and employee development skills
  • have a passion for food and innovation
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years Minimum Management Experience
  • 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting.
  • Ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented.
  • Have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations.
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance.
  • Have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.
