About The Position

DoubleTree Hotel and Suites by the Galleria is looking for an experienced hands-on Executive Chef with strong leadership skills and high creative abilities for menu design. This role offers an opportunity to elevate the culinary experience for our guests.

Requirements

  • At least five (5) years preferred
  • Flexible to work AM and PM shifts, mid-shifts, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written
  • Must be able to stand/walk for at least eight (8) hours and lift/carry at least 25-30 pounds
  • Current Food Handler Certification Required

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of kitchen and culinary operations including food and labor cost, inventory, sanitization, ordering, proper handling/storage of all food items according to required standard.
  • Interview, hire, provide hands-on training for new hires and implement development plans for staff.
  • Create new menu items, test and write recipes to attract desired customer market.
  • Establish and achieve profit objectives and desired standards of quality food, cleanliness, and ensure all culinary staff consistently follows recipes and yield guidelines with high food quality standards.
  • Assist catering sales management with developing special menus for functions and meet with clients as requested.
  • Regularly review and evaluate the degree of food quality for outlets and banquets.
  • Create new menu ideas/recipes whenever declining or constant sales imply dissatisfaction by customers, customer market or change in the competitive surroundings.
