About The Position

Sodexo is seeking an innovative and results-driven Executive Chef 2 to lead the culinary program at Pittsburg State University, located in Pittsburg, KS, as part of an exciting new campus dining partnership. This highly visible leadership role is responsible for the overall culinary direction of the account, including resident dining, retail dining, catering, menu development, food quality, food safety, and team development. The Executive Chef will inspire and lead a diverse culinary team while creating exceptional dining experiences that meet the evolving needs of students, faculty, staff, and guests. The successful candidate will bring a passion for food, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include overseeing daily culinary operations, maintaining Sodexo culinary standards, ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation requirements, managing food and labor costs, supporting client relationships, and developing menus that balance quality, variety, nutrition, and financial performance. Requirements

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 2 years minimum management experience
  • 2 years minimum functional experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
  • A strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest of culinary standards
  • Strong coaching and employee development skills
  • A passion for food and innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and food production forecasting
  • Ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented
  • Have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations
  • Ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance
  • Have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems
