About The Position
Sodexo is looking for an Executive Chef for the Montrose County School District. Candidate must possess strong culinary skills, customer relationship building, employee engagement and training, along with supervisory experience. Duties will include catering events, daily site visits, monitoring of food service program, employee training and supervision along with assisting the General Manager in special projects, menu recommendations, nutritional software daily updates, marketing and various school year activities. At Sodexo, we deliver food, nutrition, environmental and facilities management solutions to partnered K-12 schools. Requirements
- A strong culinary background, with the demonstrated ability to stay current with new culinary trends
- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain the highest culinary standards
- Strong coaching and employee development skills
- A passion for food and innovation
- Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
- 2 years Minimum Management Experience
- 1 year work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in a K-12 environment is preferred
Responsibilities
- Manage purchasing, inventory, menu compliance, food production, and food cost analysis across multiple sites
- Oversee PrimeroEdge food management system and support menu development initiatives
- Ensure compliance with Sodexo and USDA culinary standards, including recipes, food quality, and consistency
- Coach, mentor, and develop frontline staff while delivering strong client and customer service
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards, leveraging automated systems for inventory and operations
