About The Position

This role is for an Executive Audio-Visual Technician that will provide high-quality audio-visual support for conference rooms and executive meetings, and hybrid/virtual engagements across Boston and New York City office locations. This role requires strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to deliver seamless AV experiences for high-visibility events. The technician will serve as a primary resource for equipment setup, meeting management, live event operation, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance within conference rooms and executive spaces. The ideal candidate is proactive, customer-focused, and able to operate independently while coordinating with cross-functional teams, senior leaders, and technical partners. The work arrangement for this role is hybrid/Boston. Regular travel between Boston and NYC is required.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in AV/IT support, event production, or a similar technical role.
  • Strong knowledge of video conferencing platforms (Teams, Zoom), hardware codecs, digital audio/video systems, and AV signal flow.
  • Experience with professional AV hardware (mixers, DSPs, microphones, switchers, cameras).
  • Ability to work under pressure during live events with professionalism and composure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and customer-service orientation.
  • Ability to support executive-level meetings with confidentiality and polish.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently between Boston and NYC

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-service AV support for executive meetings, all-hands sessions, town halls, board meetings, and special events.
  • Manage the end-to-end AV lifecycle for events, including pre-production planning, setup, live operation, and post-event breakdown.
  • Coordinate and run hybrid meetings, ensuring seamless integration between in-room participants and remote attendees.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for event stakeholders, including executives, presenters, and meeting organizers.
  • Conduct pre-event tech checks (audio, video, microphones, playback, lighting, connectivity).
  • Provide real-time troubleshooting during live sessions to minimize disruptions.
  • Support webcast and streaming technology as needed.
  • Operate and support AV systems including video conferencing platforms (Teams/Zoom), digital displays, sound systems, switchers, control panels, cameras, and microphones.
  • Monitor equipment functionality during events and intervene immediately when performance issues arise.
  • Maintain knowledge of room control systems (Q-Sys, etc.) and collaborate with engineering teams for system-level support.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on conference room and event-space AV systems.
  • Inspect equipment for wear, calibration, firmware updates, and proper operation.
  • Document system issues and track resolutions through ticketing or asset management systems.
  • Work with vendors and facilities/IT teams to coordinate repairs and upgrades.
  • Keep accurate inventories of AV equipment, cables, accessories, and spares.
  • Deliver professional, courteous, and high-touch support to executive leadership and meeting organizers.
  • Translate technical concepts into clear guidance for non-technical users.
  • Provide training or quick-start instruction for staff on room systems and meeting technology.
  • Travel regularly between Boston and NYC to support executive-level meetings and corporate events.
  • Adapt quickly to different room setups, facility environments, and stakeholder needs across locations.
