About The Position

The Corporate Communications & Citizenship team is responsible for planning and implementing communications strategies and programs to protect and advance Blue Shield of California’s reputation with internal and external audiences. Works closely with various stakeholders, including senior executives, to help Blue Shield of California achieve its mission to provide access to quality care that's sustainably affordable for everyone. The Executive Assistant, Experienced will report to the Vice President, Communications and Corporate Citizenship. An Executive Assistant supporting Communications and Corporate Citizenship plays a critical role in enabling the effectiveness and impact of the function. The role serves as a trusted partner to senior leadership, managing complex calendars, and ensuring seamless execution of internal and external priorities. This position supports high‑visibility requiring strong judgment, discretion, and attention to detail. The Executive Assistant helps ensure leaders are well‑prepared, aligned, and able to focus on advancing the company’s mission, reputation, and community impact.

Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Requires at least 3 years of prior relevant experience
  • Requires proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and CoPilot required.
  • Requires experience as an Executive Assistant supporting Senior Director level and above executives, including calendar management, executive level meeting support and preparation, and report generation
  • Requires one to be detailed oriented, adaptable, highly motivated, and both proactive and efficient
  • Requires excellent communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with Blue Shield's procurement process and tools such as Concur and Oracle preferred

Responsibilities

  • Carry out administrative, analytical or procedural tasks with high degree of autonomy
  • Handle administrative matters, in the absence of, or on behalf of, the manager
  • Serve as administrative liaison between manager and direct reports and others within and outside the organization
  • Manage day-to-day organization of executive’s calendar, appointments, meetings, travels and related schedule
  • Manage department policies and procedures, Corrective Action Plan and other compliance processes
  • Facilitate department-wide activities such as team meetings, performance reviews as needed
  • Support work with external consultants by managing contract approval process with Global Business Support, monitor work billing and approvals
  • Contribute to department initiatives as needed
