The Otipemisiwak Métis Government is seeking a full-time Executive Assistant to provide direct, day-to-day administrative and coordination support to the Citizens’ Council. This position plays a key role in supporting the effective functioning of the Citizens’ Council by managing logistics, communications, and administrative processes in alignment with established governance practices. Reporting to the Manager of Government Administration within the Self-Government Department, the successful candidate will work closely with elected officials, senior leadership, and internal departments to support Council operations. This role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion, organization, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and culturally grounded environment. The Self-Government Department is responsible for implementing the commitments set out in the Otipemisiwak Métis Government Constitution and advancing the transition toward self-government for the Métis Nation within Alberta. The Citizens’ Council includes the President, one Citizens’ Representative per District, one Provincial Women’s Representative and one Provincial Youth Representative. They are responsible for representing the rights, interests, and claims of the Citizens of the Métis Nation within Alberta and for advancing the purpose, goals, and responsibilities of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government.
