About The Position

Twin Cities R!SE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of individuals impacted by racial or socio-economic barriers through Personal Empowerment, career training, and meaningful employment. Our vision is a community where all individuals, especially people of color, have attained financial independence through employment success. We offer an 8-week career training program focused on individual development, Personal Empowerment, Career Training, and 21st Century Skills, which typically results in participants doubling or tripling their annual income. Our career coaches provide support, resources, and placement connections. Employers value TCR graduates for their application of Personal Empowerment skills, leading to accountability, responsibility, conflict resolution, positive interaction, attendance, and long-term change. Graduates receive continued coaching for their first year of employment, with over 70% staying in their jobs for over a year. Our Personal Empowerment Training curriculum, including Emotional Intelligence Training, is designed by The Empowerment Institute at Twin Cities R!SE and is also offered to businesses, schools, universities, and nonprofits to foster empowered cultures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year of experience supporting organizational operations, coordination, project management, customer/client service, communications, administrative functions, or other professional work.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams), Adobe Acrobat, and cloud-based file systems such as Google Drive and SharePoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience providing support in a nonprofit, mission-driven environment.
  • Experience supporting senior leaders, leadership teams, boards, committees, or cross-functional initiatives.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and workplace collaboration technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an administrative point of contact for internal and external communication on behalf of the President/CEO, ensuring timely follow-up and coordination.
  • Draft, proofread, organize, and manage routine correspondence, calendar responses, meeting communications, and administrative documents on behalf of the President/CEO, upholding the highest standards of clarity, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Manage the President/CEO’s calendar, including scheduling and confirming internal and external appointments, coordinating meeting logistics, preparing necessary materials and assisting the President/CEO in time management.
  • Provide administrative support for board and leadership meetings, including scheduling, meeting logistics, preparation of materials, and distribution of information as assigned.
  • Coordinate meeting logistics, scheduling, reminders, and materials for leadership and organizational meetings.
  • Maintain organized administrative systems and workflows that support efficient executive office operations.
  • Organize and manage the President/CEO’s daily, weekly, and quarterly priorities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and optimizing the use of executive time.
  • Conduct research, track follow-up items, and assist with problem-solving on key issues requiring executive attention; provide thoughtful recommendations and draft appropriate responses as needed.
  • Collaborate with the leadership team on special initiatives, projects, and events, offering administrative and strategic support to advance the organization's mission.
  • Provide administrative support for organizational events, meetings, and special projects as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain systems for filing and recordkeeping of organizational documents, board materials, and other confidential information.
  • Assist with internal meeting coordination, communication distribution, and basic document or presentation preparation.
  • Other duties as assigned.
