About The Position

Mayo Clinic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Administrator for the Mayo Clinic Comprehensive Cancer Center (MCCCC). This role, in partnership with the Executive Director of the MCCCC, is crucial for strategic and operational planning, leadership development, staff diversity, fiscal management, and monitoring of operational and performance outcomes. The MCCCC aims to cure cancer through advanced research, practice, and education, utilizing data platforms, AI, automation, and digital technologies. It is one of the nation's leading NCI-Designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers with three integrated sites: Rochester, MN; Jacksonville, FL; and Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ. The center also includes the Mayo Clinic Health System (MCHS) for community-based care. The Executive Administrator also serves as the Enterprise Deputy Director for Administration for the Mayo Clinic NCI P30 Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG). This position supports the center's leadership, faculty, and staff across six transdisciplinary Research Programs and 15 Shared Research Resources, driving a robust cancer clinical trials program. The role is based in Rochester, MN, a city undergoing significant transformation with a $5 billion initiative to enhance cancer care delivery and integrate digital technologies. The position also involves collaboration within biotechnology research parks and healthcare innovation districts.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in business or health care administration.
  • At least five years of substantial leadership and management experience.
  • Experience working with physicians, scientific investigators, and allied health staff across a variety of assignments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in leadership, management, operations, finance, and communication.
  • Broad senior-management experience to coordinate activities across the organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of Mayo Clinic’s strategic priorities.
  • Broad understanding of the institution’s strengths and weaknesses relevant to advancing those priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • 10 years of leadership and management experience preferred.
  • Scientific expertise and experience in research and clinical trial operations within an NCI-designated cancer center are strongly preferred.
