About The Position

The Department for Aging and Independent Living oversees administration of statewide programs and services on behalf of Kentucky’s older adults, individuals with disabilities, and their caregivers. The mission of the Department for Aging and Independent Living (DAIL) is to promote the dignity, wellbeing, and independence of Kentuckians and their caregivers. The Executive Administrative Secretary provides high-level administrative support to the Commissioner's Office within the Department for Aging and Independent Living. Responsibilities

  • Serves as administrative assistant to the Commissioner.
  • Manages sensitive and confidential information, prepares reports, memos, and other correspondence.
  • Utilizes knowledge and understanding of underlying operational issues to create, compose, and edit correspondence and documentation.
  • Schedules the Commissioner’s calendar, reviewing it for any conflicts, setting and moving appointments and meetings.
  • Coordinates meetings, program functions and/or special events.
  • Coordinate administrative activities and reporting across multiple organizational units.
  • Schedules and monitors projects and meetings.
  • Serves as a liaison with the Secretary’s Office, other departments and DAIL staff in the resolution of a variety of matters concerning all elements of the department’s operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
