About The Position

Portland Community Reinvestment Initiatives, Inc. (PCRI) is a non-profit community development corporation dedicated to preserving, expanding, and managing affordable housing in Portland, Oregon, and providing access to services for its residents. With over 800 units of affordable housing, PCRI aims to combat involuntary displacement through initiatives like Pathway 1000, which seeks to create at least 1,000 homes in the next 10 years, focusing on N/NE Portland neighborhoods. This role supports the executive team in achieving these goals.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/ or associate’s degree in business administration, Human Resources, Nonprofit Management, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of administrative, HR, office support, or customer service experience.
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace).
  • Comfortable handling phone communication and interacting with external stakeholders.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Demonstrated interest in nonprofit or mission-driven work.
  • Must be able to regularly walk up and down stairs up to 8 hours per day.
  • Must have the ability to stoop, twist, reach, and pull.
  • Must be able to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours a day.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
  • Undergoing and passing a pre-employment criminal background, drug test and physical exam is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-level administrative support to executives, including managing schedules, coordinating meetings, and organizing travel arrangements.
  • Prepare and edit correspondence, reports, and presentations.
  • Act as a liaison between executives and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication.
  • Manage and prioritize incoming requests and inquiries to ensure timely responses.
  • Organize and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical.
  • Assist in project management and coordinate special events as needed.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
  • Conduct research and compile data to support decision-making processes.
  • Support the development and maintenance of departmental budgets and reports.
