About The Position

The Execution Planning Manager leads the creation of an execution plan during the proposal period (prior to project award) and enhances this plan, aligning it with the project schedule throughout the project lifecycle. This role utilizes Zachry’s Project Execution Planning Process (ZPEPP®) and implements the AWP process. There is an expectation that this person will eventually follow an assigned project to the field in a leadership capacity, such as General Field Superintendent or AWP Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Employees will be required to communicate in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems.
  • Position will be based from an on-site office on construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

Responsibilities

  • Develop the skill set and assist in career development of the Execution Planning Coordinator(s) who are under your supervision.
  • Collaborate with proposed Project & Corporate Leadership during the proposal period to develop the project execution strategy.
  • Lead the development, creation, and compilation of the different components of a project execution plan from various corporate support groups, e.g. safety and quality, as well as operational groups, e.g. engineering, procurement and construction.
  • Initiate and assist in the development of a project timeline during the proposal period, which will serve as the basis for project engineering, procurement, construction, and start-up (EPCS) schedule.
  • Implement the AWP Process for the creation of the Work Breakdown Structure.
  • Organize and present the proposal execution plan to the project team prior to submission of the proposal.
  • Monitor and lead the development of project constructability/best practice strategies from the collection of lessons learned through a series of site audits and communication workshops.
