About The Position

Responsible for overseeing enterprise security operations and providing leadership over site security directors and leads throughout the MGB system. This role develops and implements safety protocols and coordinates with law enforcement agencies to maintain a secure healthcare environment. This position works closely with the Vice President of Police & Security and the Security Department's Executive Leadership Team to develop and implement plans, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Criminal Justice required
  • Security management, preferably in a healthcare setting 3-5 years required
  • Security, Law Enforcement, or Military 5-7 years required
  • Management or leadership 8-10+ years required
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with security technologies, including surveillance systems, access control, and emergency response equipment.
  • Experience collaborating with law enforcement and emergency services.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Joint Commission).
  • Ability to manage crises and develop emergency preparedness plans.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all aspects of security operations across the MGB enterprise, including providing leadership and director of security directors and site leads across the entirety of the MGB system.
  • Supervise and mentor directors and site leads, develop succession planning, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Develop, implement, and update standardized security policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Ensure system-wide adherence to all policies and procedures.
  • Develop security-based response plans to security threats, emergencies, or crises. Develop emergency preparedness plans, conduct regular drills, and collaborate with healthcare leadership on emergency response strategies.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with local law enforcement agencies, fire departments, and emergency medical services.
  • Oversee the security department’s budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost-effective deployment of personnel and equipment. Assist in the procurement of security technology and systems to enhance operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, including healthcare-specific security standards, such as HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission accreditation requirements. Implement corrective actions to address any identified gaps in compliance.
