The National Casualty Practice is a premier team of casualty brokerage professionals with extensive experience in representing buyers of primary and umbrella/excess liability. We are looking to add a broker to our Excess Casualty team! We are considering applicants in New York, NY and Dallas, TX. Aon is in the business of better decisions. Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant insurance P&C business experience
  • Demonstrated expertise of Casualty (Workers Compensation, Auto Liability, General Liability, Umbrella/Excess Liability, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of casualty risks and carrier appetites.
  • Broad relationships with the carriers that write casualty P&C business.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and report-writing skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Co-Pilot.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.
  • Property and Casualty Brokers License is required

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing risk expertise and knowledge of industry and insurance marketplace, a VP reviews clients’ exposures and loss experience and develops solutions for clients’ needs.
  • Serve as a trusted casualty advisor by evaluating client risks, analyzing loss experience, and developing renewal and placement strategies tailored to client needs.
  • Lead the marketing process by preparing submissions, negotiating with carriers, evaluating quotes, and presenting coverage, pricing, and program recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the placement lifecycle, including order-to-bind activities, policy reviews, program accuracy, and resolution of open items, subjectivities, and underwriting requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, carriers, underwriters, and Aon's National Casualty Practice to deliver exceptional service and market intelligence.
  • Provide insights on market conditions, carrier appetites, pricing trends, and emerging coverage developments to support client decision-making.
  • Collaborate with account executives, producers, and client teams to support client retention, new business opportunities, and the development of innovative risk solutions.
  • Articulate the value of the broking function and participate in client discussions regarding strategy, program structure, and fee arrangements, as applicable.
  • Mentor and support the development of brokers and other colleagues while ensuring compliance with Aon’s best practices.
