About The Position

The Operator operates machines and/or equipment at a recyclery, landfill, or transfer station. The role includes inspecting, operating, monitoring, cleaning, and performing minor service on equipment. The Operator completes equipment condition reports and other required forms, reports necessary repairs, and ensures equipment is properly cleaned, serviced, and stored at the end of each shift. Other job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• Valid certificate(s) of training, as required, for use of equipment.
• At least 2 years of experience in equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operation and post-operation equipment inspections and ensure windows, lights, mirrors, and the rear-view camera are clean.
• Operate excavators, compactors, bulldozers, forklifts, front-end loaders, and other equipment using proper techniques.
• Monitor waste for signs of unacceptable waste.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Continuously monitor equipment to ensure proper operation and minimize downtime; clean equipment tracks or wheels.
• Perform and document minor equipment service.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required forms; report necessary repairs to a supervisor and/or Maintenance Shop.
• Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, serviced, and stored at the end of each shift.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
