About The Position

Under direction, the Exam Room Chaperone acts as a chaperone during examinations and IVF monitoring and conveys a positive image of the physician's practice. The position supports patient flow and prepares examination and procedure rooms and ultrasound equipment between patients. It also assists with restocking, instrument delivery, specimen transport, and documentation as requested by physicians.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal well with sensitive issues.
Responsible individual with a neat appearance.

Responsibilities

Assist with restocking the phlebotomy room, examination rooms, recovery room, and operating room.
Deliver instruments to and pick them up from Central Sterile Supply.
Assist with patient flow by directing patients to the correct examination room and instructing them in preparation.
Return to the examination room with the physician to chaperone examinations or ultrasounds.
Escort patients to examination and operating rooms.
Take notes and complete documentation as requested by the physician.
Transport specimens and semen analysis collection samples to laboratories.
Prepare rooms between patients, including necessary cleaning and ultrasound preparation for the next procedure.
Prepare ultrasound probes for examination by applying gel and fitting a probe cover with appropriate lubricant.
Prepare examination rooms before procedures and clean and prepare examination tables for patients.
Stamp and sign the chart or back of the cycle sheet with name and date after chaperoning a procedure.
Perform other job-related duties as required.
