About The Position

The Centre for Accessibility facilitates disability-related accommodations and programming initiatives designed to remove barriers for students with disabilities and ongoing medical conditions in all aspects of university life. At the Accommodated Exam Centre, we invigilate over 40,000 exams a year to ensure students have equitable access to their assessments. The program has experienced significant growth over the last few years with daily exam numbers peaking at 950 a day. If you choose to work with our program you can expect a fast paced, dynamic and busy environment. Your primary task is to start, invigilate and end exams for students with unique accessibility requirements including assistive software, private spaces, student assistants, extended time and other complex supports. Your shift may involve checking students in, watching over a large group room, invigilating several private space exams at once, administrative support and other tasks as required including ensuring the exam writings spaces are clean and tidy. During final exams you can expect to work with our team to start well over 300 individual exams at multiple times throughout the day. As an invigilator you are the first point of communication for students taking their exams with us. You help set the tone for a respectful and inclusive exam environment. Your communication - both verbal and non-verbal - has a real impact on how students experience their time in the Centre for Accessibility.
