To maintain a clean, attractive, and safe hospital environment for patients, staff, and visitors through a systematic application of cleaning procedures. This role involves maintaining established orderliness, cleaning, and safety standards, complying with proper patient room cleaning policies, and properly disposing of various types of waste including trash, biohazard/medical waste, and HIPAA information. The EVS Worker also practices infection control standards, performs various cleaning tasks such as scrubbing carpets and cleaning floors, and observes and reports items in need of repair. Additionally, the role requires documenting performed tasks, demonstrating behavior that supports the hospital's mission, and attending required training seminars. The position emphasizes respectful and positive interpersonal skills with patients, clients, the public, managers, and co-workers, functioning as a team player. Any additional duties as assigned will also be part of the role.
