About The Position

The EVS Tech collects and transports general and infectious or biohazard waste, soiled linens, and recyclable materials according to department and infection-control guidelines. The role operates power equipment, including trash compactors, carpet extractors, vacuum cleaners, auto scrubbers, burnishers, and other floor-care or cleaning equipment.

The position maintains floor surfaces throughout campus facilities. Duties include removing and recoating floor finish; corrective and routine scrubbing; dust mopping and burnishing floors; and extracting and cleaning carpets and furniture, including spot removal. The EVS Tech may also perform conventional housekeeping duties in other areas, arrange and set up meeting rooms, transport and stock supplies, and respond to customer service requests. The role requires collaboration, organization, problem-solving, task completion, and effective communication.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English, including understanding verbal and written instructions, correspondence, and memos, is highly preferred.
• Ability to prioritize job duties and work independently and/or in a team environment.
• Prior experience in floor-care maintenance is highly preferred.
• Ability to stand, push, pull, reach, lift, bend, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift 50–75 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds regularly.
• Ability to push and pull carts weighing 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Nice To Haves

• English reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension skills.
• Prior experience in floor-care maintenance.

• Maintain floor surfaces throughout campus facilities, including floor-finish removal and recoating, corrective and routine scrubbing, dust mopping, burnishing, and carpet and furniture extraction, cleaning, and spot removal.
• Perform conventional housekeeping duties in other areas as needed.
• Arrange and set up meeting rooms, including transporting and stocking supplies.
• Respond to customer service requests.
• Collaborate with others, organize work, accomplish tasks, solve problems, and communicate effectively.
