About The Position
The EVS Tech, also referred to as an Environmental Services Technician or Environmental Aide, helps maintain a safe and healthy hospital environment by cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas to prevent infection. The role includes waste disposal, supply restocking, floor and surface maintenance, and responding to urgent cleaning needs. This is a per diem (PD/PRN as-needed) position at Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, Texas, with an evening shift listed as 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and an 8-hour shift duration. Requirements
- Ability to read, understand, and communicate effectively.
Nice To Haves
- One year of knowledge of environmental services techniques, practices, and procedures in an acute care hospital.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, operating rooms, and common areas to help prevent the spread of infections.
- Dispose of medical and hazardous waste according to hospital protocols.
- Restock supplies, including gloves, masks, and cleaning materials, in hospital areas.
- Clean and maintain floors, restrooms, and other surfaces using specialized equipment and chemicals.
- Respond to urgent cleaning needs, such as spills or contamination incidents, and communicate promptly using phones, handheld radios, pagers, and other devices.
- Maintain cleanliness in the hospital and adjacent buildings, traveling independently between facilities when required.
