About The Position

The EVS Lead will serve as a working lead, providing hands-on support while helping management maintain consistent operations at a medical facility. This position provides hands-on leadership to EVS Custodians, helps maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, and assists management with daily staffing, quality control, and operational needs. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment while providing leadership and support to the EVS team.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous EVS, custodial, janitorial, healthcare environmental services, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
  • Previous lead or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Healthcare or medical facility experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Setting a positive example for the EVS team.
  • Helping employees understand daily expectations and priorities.
  • Monitoring work completion and quality.
  • Providing coaching and guidance when needed.
  • Communicating employee or operational concerns to management.
  • Helping maintain accountability and a professional workplace environment.
  • Supporting the Supervisor with daily operational needs.
  • Provide daily leadership and direction to EVS Custodians.
  • Assist with assigning daily cleaning duties and ensuring assigned areas are properly maintained.
  • Perform and oversee cleaning and sanitation of patient care areas, offices, restrooms, hallways, common areas, and other designated areas.
  • Follow established healthcare cleaning and infection-control procedures.
  • Ensure proper use of cleaning chemicals, equipment, PPE, and safety procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas to ensure quality standards are being met.
  • Identify areas requiring additional cleaning or corrective action and address concerns promptly.
  • Assist with training and coaching new and existing EVS employees.
  • Reinforce attendance, punctuality, uniform, safety, and workplace expectations.
