About The Position

The EVS Associate performs cleaning tasks in assigned areas at Banner Health’s corporate location in Mesa, Arizona. This is not a hospital setting. The role helps maintain a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for staff members and visitors while minimizing interference with others. The associate works as part of an environmental services team and responds to requests from staff and visitors.

The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Duties include cleaning restrooms and breakrooms, removing trash, vacuuming, dusting, and completing detail cleaning. The position works under regular supervision and is responsible for an assigned facility or area.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team without continuous supervision.
• Ability to interpret and respond to verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively with others by phone and verbally.
• Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets and instructions for mixing and using cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to fill out chemical identification stickers.

Nice To Haves

• Previous related experience.
• Familiarity with environmental services equipment and cleaning techniques.
• Additional related education and/or experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned cleaning tasks, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, and polishing, according to departmental policies and procedures; plan daily task completion.
• Empty hampers and transport soiled linen; empty trash containers and remove trash; empty medical waste containers, including sharps.
• Inventory, restock, and replenish supplies such as toilet tissue, paper towels, and hand soap in assigned areas.
• Maintain departmental equipment cleanliness, use equipment properly to prevent damage, log equipment in and out, and notify appropriate personnel when repairs are needed.
• Perform special projects as needed, such as washing windows or walls and removing heavily soiled items or furnishings.
• Respond to questions and requests from patients, staff, and visitors, and meet or exceed customer service satisfaction goals.
• Help provide a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing environment for staff, visitors, and other facility customers.
