About The Position
The EVS Associate I maintains cleanliness at Franciscan Health Chesterton by cleaning and disinfecting facilities, restocking supplies, removing trash and linen, and providing linen services. The associate cares for and cleans equipment used, reports damage or safety issues to a supervisor, and maintains a strong knowledge of department policies and procedures. The role includes cleaning and disinfecting floors and surfaces with hospital-specific equipment, inspecting rooms for cleanliness and safety or maintenance concerns, and preparing receptacles for reuse. Travel is required never or rarely.
Requirements
- One year of experience preferred.

- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect floors using hospital-specific equipment, including microfiber cloths and wet mops.
- Clean and sanitize surfaces such as over-bed tables, counters, furniture, toilets, urinals, sinks, showers, walls, floors, and mirrors.
- Clean and sanitize vertical surfaces, including walls, ceilings, and windows.
- Clean high-dust surfaces such as picture frames, vents, and doorframes.
- Inspect rooms for proper cleaning and report safety or maintenance issues.
- Remove trash and linen, clean receptacles, and prepare them for next use.
- Restock paper, hand sanitizer, and hand soap supplies.
- Care for and clean equipment used, and report damage or safety issues to a supervisor.
- Maintain knowledge of department policies and procedures.
