Primary Purpose Receives and secures evidence for inventorying and/or for disposing. Essential Job Functions Receives all evidence submitted by Deputies; properly secures evidence in compliance with established standards. Maintains records of property submitted to include location, status, and classification; logs, maintains, purges records of property submitted as evidence according to established procedures. Maintains and updates departmental inventories/field supplies relating to evidence and issued items. Receives, inventories, releases and/or disposes evidence in compliance with existing policy and law. Files evidence tags on a regular basis; properly maintains evidence in assigned bins; performs housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning work area; determines need for supplies; calls for quotes and orders supplies; Issues and distributes supplies from stock; prepares periodic inventories and reports including recommendations for more effective control methods. Testifies in court regarding chain of custody on property. Receives training in laws of evidence.
