The Events and Programs Specialist is responsible for planning, developing, and coordinating events and programming for residents and family members, creating an environment conducive to wellness and fun throughout the organization.

Requirements

CNA certification preferred
2 years of experience in social or recreational programming in health care setting working with residents Dementia preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills with demonstrated creativity
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

Participates in planning and leads creative community events and programs of interest to residents and families
Organize volunteers
Prepares activity assessments and MDS for each resident according to regulatory requirements and completes participation in Caretracker
Assists with arranging transportation to events, programs and field trips as necessary
Implements passive exercise and wellness programs on the nursing units
