Internship Objective : The Events Marketing intern supports the Events team in planning, coordinating, and executing the various event portfolios. This role assists with plant tour logistics, provides support for cross-functional meetings and Home/Trade Shows, and contributes to the on-site customer experience at key events, including the International Builders Show, Contractors Summit, and the James Hardie Invitational. This is a hands-on learning opportunity ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and eager to gain experience in a fast-paced, people-facing environment. Internship Assignment: As a capstone project, the intern will take ownership of analyzing and improving the process for one core event type. The goal is to leave behind a clear, scalable, and more efficient framework that can be used by the team in the future. Current State Assessment: Document the existing process, including timelines, stakeholders, tools, and pain points. Gap Analysis: Identify inefficiencies, risks, or areas lacking clarity/standardization. Best Practices Research: Incorporate insights from industry standards or comparable events. Proposed Process Framework: Step-by-step workflow (from planning through execution and post-event) Defined roles and responsibilities (RACI or similar) Standard timelines and key milestones Templates, checklists, or tools to support execution Final Presentation: Present recommendations and materials to the Events team, highlighting key improvements and expected impact. What You’ll Do: General Responsibilities: Work with team members on diverse projects and tasks. Perform research and analysis to aid project objectives. Create reports, presentations, and necessary documentation. Engage in team meetings and share ideas. Learn and implement industry best practices and company standards. Events Marketing Responsibilities: Assist with planning and coordinating logistics for plant tours, including scheduling, transportation, site coordination, and customer communications. Support logistical needs for functional and cross-functional meetings and Home/Trade Shows (e.g., preparing agendas, scheduling, materials, and room setup). Assist with event timelines, budgets, vendor coordination, and inventory tracking related to the International Builders Show, Contractors Summit, and the James Hardie Invitational. Support event communications, registration processes, and attendee tracking. Help maintain event-related databases, calendars, and reports.
