About The Position

SOSi is seeking an Events Manager for its operational headquarters in Reston, Virginia. The Events Manager supports SOSi’s brand visibility, thought leadership, and market presence through the planning and execution of external and internal events. This role manages industry events, trade shows, conferences, and selected internal employee events, ensuring high-quality execution, strong stakeholder coordination, and measurable outcomes that support business and marketing objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; OR equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum five years of experience in event management or event marketing, and program support, preferably within B2B or government contracting environments.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
  • Experience using CRM or event management platforms (e.g., CVENT).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting industry associations or sponsored events.
  • Familiarity with event performance metrics and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute a portfolio of external and internal events aligned with marketing and business priorities.
  • Support the development and execution of the annual events calendar in coordination with marketing and business stakeholders.
  • Manage event timelines, logistics, staffing plans, and deliverables to ensure on-time, high-quality execution.
  • Serve as a point of contact for assigned industry associations and sponsored events.
  • Coordinate participation opportunities, including memberships, sponsorship deliverables, and event logistics.
  • Support engagement with association partners, speakers, and event organizers.
  • Manage SOSi’s participation in trade shows, conferences, and external events.
  • Coordinate event logistics including registrations, booth logistics, vendor coordination, promotional materials, and staffing.
  • Support executive and employee participation through scheduling, preparation materials, and on-site coordination.
  • Plan and execute internal events such as employee meetings, celebrations, and engagement activities.
  • Coordinate logistics, messaging support, and vendor execution in alignment with company culture goals.
  • Coordinate with event vendors, venues, and contractors to support successful event delivery.
  • Track event expenses, invoices, and budget alignment, escalating risks or variances as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to contracts, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Track event metrics including attendance, engagement, and feedback.
  • Compile post-event summaries and reports with key outcomes and recommendations.
  • Support continuous improvement through participant feedback and performance insights.
