About The Position

The Event Manager reports to the Director of School and Program Events. The role of the Events Manager is to plan and implement key events designed to cultivate, maintain, and strengthen alumni, parent, and friend ties to the University. Oversee or assist with all aspects of event planning.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees, manages, and provides assistance as needed for special events in University Advancement programs for assigned schools and programs including but not limited to professorship installations, scholarship dinners, Distinguished Alumni Award dinners, stewardship and cultivation events, and other events involving the schools and programs.
  • Works with the Philanthropic Strategy and Development teams, faculty, alumni, and students to facilitate engagement, cultivation, and stewardship through program events.
  • Oversees event planning related activities including but not limited to contract negotiations and management, reserving event space, working with communications coordinator to create invitations, overseeing data for invitation lists, coordinating and supervising mail house projects, creating timelines, establishing logistical plans, assist with securing speakers, creating seating plans, assisting with talking points, briefing materials for university leadership, and onsite logistics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
