Events & Field Marketing Manager

Obvio•San Carlos, CA
•Remote

About The Position

We are seeking a high-agency, hands-on Events & Field Marketing Manager to build and lead our field presence from the ground up. In this role, you will own how Obvio shows up in the physical world: from public safety trade shows and municipal conferences to intimate roundtables with local officials, police chiefs, city planners, and enterprise partners. You will bridge offline experiences with sales pipeline, brand building, and community engagement. You will evaluate where Obvio invests, design high-impact activations that stand out, negotiate contracts, and oversee end-to-end technical and physical execution on-site.

Requirements

  • 3-6+ years of experience in field marketing, event operations, or experiential marketing, ideally within B2B SaaS, AI, smart cities, physical hardware, or public sector technology.
  • Proven track record of independently planning and executing multi-format events, ranging from multi-thousand-person trade shows to intimate C-level executive dinners.
  • High agency, an ownership mindset, and a bias toward action in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments.
  • Exceptional project management skills with meticulous attention to detail across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Strong cross-functional alignment skills, with experience preparing executive spokespeople and driving post-event sales follow-through.
  • Willingness to travel regularly (up to 30-40%) to direct on-site setup and execution.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience working with municipal governments, public safety agencies, law enforcement, or transportation departments.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating physical hardware or complex technical product demos in field/outdoor settings.
  • Proficiency with modern GTM and event platforms

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy, planning, and execution of Obvio’s field marketing calendar, directly aligning event strategy with GTM revenue targets and geographical expansion goals.
  • Evaluate, prioritize, and secure Obvio’s presence at major government expos, public safety summits, traffic safety conferences, and industry trade shows.
  • Conceptualize and launch proprietary Obvio events, including executive dinners, regional roundtables, live hardware demos, and community launch activations.
  • Own end-to-end event production: site selection, booth design, vendor management, hardware demo setups, staffing, travel logistics, and budget allocation.
  • Partner with Sales and Government Relations on target account strategy, pre-event outreach, on-site meeting schedules, and post-event lead routing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to create event-specific toolkits, localized marketing collateral, and interactive hardware demonstrations.
  • Establish event KPIs, track lead attribution and deliver clear post-event performance reporting to GTM leadership.
  • Build repeatable, scalable field playbooks to support rapid company growth across new markets.
  • Identify and secure high-impact speaking opportunities, panels, and media engagements for company executives, building credibility and positioning the company as a recognized authority in the market.
  • Plan and coordinate truck-based roadshows showcasing our mobile hardware, managing logistics, routing, venue partnerships, and on-site execution to deliver memorable hands-on experiences for customers and prospects.
  • Organize recurring internal events that bring key company leaders together, fostering alignment, collaboration, and connection across teams and functions.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and early-stage equity
