About The Position

The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking an Events & Development Manager to join the Marketing & Development Team. This position is an integral and central part of the office, working with all areas of the department. The role carries out responsibilities within fundraising, including event planning and logistics, donor research, donor cultivation and solicitation efforts, fundraising appeals, giving clubs, and data analysis. The Events & Development Manager is responsible for managing The Children’s Home’s fundraising events, including third-party events, cultivation events, and the annual fundraising gala. They are also responsible to steward corporate and individual gifts of all levels, including planned and major gifts, and will foster donor relations. The position reports to the Director of Development and is a member of the Marketing and Development Department team. This position works collaboratively with the Marketing and Development Department and members of the organization’s senior management team. This position has regular interaction with donors, volunteers, and members of the organization’s Board of Directors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fundraising, Marketing, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of donor database management experience required.
  • Experience working for a non-profit organization is required.
  • Experience with data input/output, maintenance, management and analysis.
  • Genuine interest in the organization’s mission.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Function with a high-level of detail.
  • Strong critical thinking skills, technical leadership, and proficiency.
  • Advanced working knowledge of MS office, strong Excel skills required.
  • Understanding of principles and strategies of philanthropy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to take initiative and to work independently, exercise good judgment, and act diplomatically.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully both independently and with a strong team in a collaborative environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

  • Expertise using Donor Perfect preferred.
