About The Position

This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of festival planning and execution, including logistics, site setup, and day-of operations. It involves building and maintaining partnerships with community organizations and securing sponsorships to support event success. The position also manages relationships with vendors, performers, and cultural groups to ensure diverse and engaging programming. Additionally, it oversees volunteer coordination to ensure a smooth event delivery. This job posting reflects the general duties of the role but is not intended to be a detailed description of all duties. The Education Outreach Program Coordinator may be asked to perform other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or currently enrolled in college or university
  • Comfortable with using technology, e.g. MS Office, Internet, skype, websites
  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation
  • Experience in event planning, coordination, or project management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with vendors, performers, sponsors, and community partners
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders and community organizations

  • Experience working with non-profit organizations is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of festival planning and logistics
  • Organize site layout, setup, and teardown (equipment, staging, signage)
  • Oversee day-of-event operations to ensure smooth execution
  • Communicate and coordinate with performers, cultural groups, and entertainment providers
  • Recruit, confirm, and manage food vendors and cultural exhibitors
  • Manage volunteer schedules and provide support during the event
  • Identify, pursue, and secure sponsorship opportunities with local businesses and community partners
  • Build and maintain relationships with community organizations and stakeholders
  • Assist with event marketing, outreach, and promotion
  • Ensure all activities align with the mission and values of the immigrant-serving agency
