About The Position

Construction trades helpers and labourers assist skilled tradespersons and perform labouring activities at work sites. They will primarily assist Carpenters and learn on the job. This position is funded through the Government of Canada - Canada Summer Jobs program. To be eligible, applicants must meet the eligibility requirements established by the program.

Requirements

• Must be between 15 and 30 years old at the start of their summer job
• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the job
• Must be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
• Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of the summer job

Responsibilities

• Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
• Assist tradespersons such as carpenters in construction activities
• Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment
• Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.
