About The Position

The Events and Ministry Coordinator, internally known as Coordinator of Resident Services, is a part-time, paid position responsible for executing the service plan of Apartment Life. This role involves working with a supervisor to prepare a monthly schedule for serving residents through events and programming, meeting their needs. Programming includes resident events, workshops for adults and families, resourcing activities, and welcoming new residents. The coordinator will plan and host 2-3 events/workshops each month to promote social engagement, wellness, health, enrichment, and stability. They will also maintain a monthly updated list of helpful resources for residents, such as rent and food assistance, and connect residents with local resources. Additionally, the coordinator will partner with community businesses for holistic activities, communicate effectively with onsite staff and their supervisor, and report on activity and impact monthly.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's Degree or related experience in event planning, social impact, or human services.
  • Excellent listening/communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic fluency in English to compose marketing elements for the community and required reports.
  • Possess a current driver's license and liability insurance, and access to a form of reliable transportation to complete coordinator duties such as shopping for events and connecting with vendors.
  • Be physically able to use stairs, bend, sit, stand, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Have the availability to commit weekly hours to perform job responsibilities, mainly in the evenings and weekends when most residents are home.
  • Be able to make the minimum term commitment to serving in the apartment community.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Experience serving at-risk populations preferred.
  • Previous event planning experience.
  • Experience working within a budget.
  • Some relevant experience using social media.
  • Have a network of support through potential volunteers, vendors, or community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a monthly schedule to serve through events and programming to meet the needs of each community.
  • Plan and host 2-3 events/workshops each month to promote social engagement, wellness, health, enrichment, and stability.
  • Update a list of helpful resources for residents monthly for rent assistance, food assistance, and other needs.
  • Meet with residents with specific needs and help connect them to local resources.
  • Partner with community businesses to provide holistic activities.
  • Communicate effectively with the onsite staff and AL supervisor.
  • Report activity and impact each month.
  • Work with corporate, government, and nonprofit partners to create programs that fit each community's needs.
  • Organize and host educational workshops for adults and youth.
  • Meet with residents to provide support and connect them with resources.
  • Share information about rental, food, and other assistance programs.
  • Oversee all activities to ensure they run smoothly.
  • Communicate regularly with onsite staff.
  • Meet weekly with your supervisor to review program and goals.
  • Submit monthly reports on activities and impact.
