About The Position

The Events and Ministry Coordinator, internally known as Coordinator of Resident Services, is a part-time, paid position responsible for executing the service plan of Apartment Life. This role involves working with a supervisor to prepare a monthly schedule for serving communities through events and programming, meeting resident needs. Programming includes resident events, workshops for adults and families, resourcing activities, and welcoming new residents. The coordinator will plan and host 2-3 events/workshops each month to promote social engagement, wellness, health, enrichment, and stability. They will also update a monthly list of helpful resources for residents (e.g., rent assistance, food assistance) and meet with residents to connect them to local resources. The role requires partnering with community businesses for holistic activities, effective communication with onsite staff and the AL supervisor, and reporting on activity and impact monthly.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's Degree or related experience in event planning, social impact, or human services.
  • Excellent listening/communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Basic fluency in English to compose marketing elements for the community and required reports.
  • Possess a current driver's license and liability insurance, and access to a form of reliable transportation.
  • Be physically able to use stairs, bend, sit, stand, stoop, and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Availability to commit weekly hours to perform job responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required.
  • Experience serving at-risk populations preferred.
  • Previous event planning experience.
  • Experience working within a budget.
  • Some relevant experience using social media.
  • Have a network of support through potential volunteers, vendors, or community partners.
  • Ability to provide after-hours or weekend activities as needed.
  • Serve 1 community located in Fort Worth, TX near Bentley Village-Waterchase.
  • Serve hourly 8 hours per week.
  • Serve working hours either one 8 hour day or two 4 hour days during the work week (Monday-Friday before 5:30pm).
  • Have a huge heart to serve the Senior Adult population.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a monthly schedule to serve through events and programming to meet the needs of each community.
  • Plan and host 2-3 events/workshops each month to promote social engagement, wellness, health, enrichment, and stability.
  • Update a list of helpful resources for residents monthly for rent assistance, food assistance, and other needs.
  • Meet with residents with specific needs and help connect them to local resources.
  • Partner with community businesses to provide holistic activities.
  • Communicate effectively with the onsite staff and AL supervisor.
  • Report activity and impact each month.
  • Work with corporate, government, and nonprofit partners to create programs that fit each community's needs.
  • Organize and host educational workshops for adults and youth.
  • Share information about rental, food, and other assistance programs.
  • Oversee all activities to ensure they run smoothly.
  • Meet weekly with your supervisor to review program and goals.
  • Submit monthly reports on activities and impact.
