The Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis is looking for an Event Sales Manager who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. We are looking for an energetic, experienced customer service professional with excellent interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, have a passion for service and hospitality. As the Catering Sales Manager, you will secure and service Corporate and Social Catering Business, through active and effective promotion, networking, solicitation, and prospecting, while maintaining Four Seasons standards and maximizing revenue/profit potential. The Catering Sales Manager reports to the Director of Events.

Requirements

  • Applicants are required to have 2-3 years previous experience in a similar role.
  • We are looking for individuals who have solid selling and interpersonal skills and who demonstrate the energy and commitment to meet and exceed personal goals.
  • The applicant will have a proven track record in pursuing, evaluating soliciting, selling and confirming business as required in order to meet individual goals and overall budgeted sales and profitability.
  • Strong command of the English language

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with South Asian wedding market is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries and actively solicit new business with the intention of confirming profitable catering business and achieving Monthly Production Goals.
  • Uncover clients’ implied needs and wishes and create highly customized proposals accordingly.
  • Create and conduct memorable site inspection experiences, showcasing the resort and setting it apart from the competition to maximize business capture, through intuitive selling.
  • Entertain wedding and social tastemakers on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate the sales efforts between sales and catering departments to ensure proper utilization of function space to yield maximum revenues.
  • Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including but not exclusive to: Morning Operations Briefing, Morning Catering Briefing, Resume Meeting, Banquet Event Order Meeting, Sales Meeting, Monthly Board of Operations, Menu Tastings, and Planning Visits.
  • Finalize the requirements of confirmed bookings while maximizing revenue potential through creative upselling and ensuring effective communication both written (including Proposals, BEO, Resumes) and personal contact with all departments for the success of the event(s).
  • Provide billing review on completion of event(s).
  • Supervise the execution of banquet events.
  • Review all function space with banquet manager / head house attendant.
  • Ensure clients’ satisfaction during events.
  • Keep Director of Events promptly and fully informed of all potential problems or unusual matters so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.
  • Comply with Four Seasons standards for sales and marketing, while working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and planning committee.
  • Comply with Four Seasons Category One and Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.
