About The Position

The Event Production intern will assist the Event Production department with back-of-house and front-of-house operations and activities during events in the arena, which includes basketball games, hockey games, concerts, and ancillary events. Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE) is one of the largest integrated sports and entertainment companies in the country with one of the most diverse partnership groups in all of sports. MSE owns and operates seven major and minor sports teams and manages multiple venues including Capital One Arena, MedStar Capitals Iceplex, MedStar Health Performance Center, and EagleBank Arena. MSE also operates Monumental Sports Network and has recently opened "District E powered by Ticketmaster", a flagship esports and entertainment venue. Requirements

  • Related internships or experience in venue management, operations or event management.
  • Strong understanding of MS Office including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes in a multi-client environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Some AutoCAD knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Event Production team in the planning, organization, and supervision of all events at Capital One Arena.
  • Manage and maintain the arena Event Calendar in collaboration with the Booking department.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Department to confirm room set ups for meetings, concourse set ups for games, and chair sets for concerts.
  • Assist with creation of event documentation for various events throughout the building.
  • Update and document historical event data.
  • Attend advance meetings and weekly department meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Pay Rate: $18.40 USD/hour
