Event Marketing Manager

Prophetic Technologies IncPortland, OR
Hybrid

About The Position

This role owns the events program end to end, from strategy and decision-making on which events to sponsor, speak at, or attend, to the creative execution of field events and scrappy activations, and finally to the ground-level logistics, vendor management, staffing, and run of show. It's a hands-on position for someone who can build the plan and execute it, reporting to the Head of Marketing and collaborating with Sales, Account Management, design, and demand generation teams. The events strategy is in its early stages, offering an opportunity to build the playbook.

Requirements

  • 5 to 7 years in event marketing, field marketing, or trade show management, B2B preferred.
  • A track record of building and running a multi-event portfolio, not just executing someone else's plan.
  • Proven ability to evaluate sponsorships and connect event spend to pipeline and ROI. You know the difference between a booth that looks busy and a booth that produces deals.
  • Strong on-site execution under pressure: logistics, vendors, staffing, and run of show.
  • Budget ownership and a sharp eye for what is worth the money.
  • A scrappy, creative streak and real comfort with guerrilla tactics, not just official sponsorships.
  • Proactive mindset. You notice the gap and fill it before anyone asks.
  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity and manages multiple events and deadlines at once.
  • Comfort with AI tooling as part of your daily workflow.
  • Willing to travel for events.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a technical or considered-purchase category, ideally real estate, proptech, construction, or fintech.
  • Familiarity with the homebuilder and developer event circuit, including shows like IBS and PCBC.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or similar marketing and CRM platforms for lead capture and attribution.
  • Experience managing executive and customer speakers, from securing slots to prepping the talk.
  • Experience scaling an events program at a high-growth startup.

Responsibilities

  • Own the annual events calendar and the decision behind every line on it: sponsor, speak, attend, or skip.
  • Evaluate each opportunity against our ideal customer profile and our pipeline goals, and build the case to add new events or cut the ones that do not perform.
  • Secure and support speaking slots for our leadership and customers at the events that matter most.
  • Evaluate and negotiate sponsorship packages, booths, and partnerships, and decide what level of spend earns its place.
  • Tie every event to pipeline and cost per opportunity, and report on what worked, what did not, and what we do differently next time.
  • Run local and regional events: dinners, meetups, customer gatherings, and roadshows.
  • Design creative, scrappy activations around the industry's biggest shows, the kind that get talked about on a startup budget.
  • Find the unexpected ways to reach builders and developers where they already are.
  • Manage the full run of show: booth builds, shipping, collateral, vendors, travel, and on-site staffing.
  • Coordinate with design on booth and materials, and with Sales on who works each event and how.
  • Own the details so the team can focus on conversations, not logistics.
  • Build badge scan and lead capture processes that feed clean data into HubSpot.
  • Partner with demand generation on pre and post event campaigns that convert conversations into demos, so no lead from an event goes cold.
  • Use AI tooling daily for research, planning, content, and workflow.

Benefits

  • 100% medical, dental & vision insurance coverage for you; 30% coverage for dependents
  • Competitive salary and meaningful early-stage equity
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Hybrid/Remote stipend
  • In-office perks: snacks, drinks, coffee, ping-pong table, and more — plus cuddles from Olive, our in-office Doberman!
