About The Position

Jeffrey A. Miller Hospitality Group (JAM) is seeking a part-time Event Designer to join their planning team at Bellevue Hall & Cauffiel Estate in Wilmington, DE. This role involves in-person event execution and client visits, with flexibility for remote work on behind-the-scenes tasks. The Event Designer will be responsible for meticulously planning every detail of JAM weddings and events to ensure they are memorable. JAM is recognized for its high-quality off-premise catering for weddings and special events in the Tri-State area.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in planning, events, or a similar field preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams) is required.
  • Proficiency in using Google Chrome for planning paperwork and accessing company documents.
  • Must own a personal laptop (PC preferred over Apple).
  • Possess a valid driver's license and ability to drive to venues in Wilmington, DE.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to maintain a warm yet professional demeanor.
  • Ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Weekend availability and weekday/weeknight availability as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients after introduction by the Venue Manager.
  • Schedule and conduct appointments (in-person or via phone conference) for menu development, food tastings, and floor plans.
  • Respond to client emails within 48 hours.
  • Complete event planning forms accurately and on time for various departments.
  • Schedule and conduct venue walkthroughs with clients before events.
  • Execute and oversee day-of event coordination at the venue, serving as the main client contact.
  • Potentially take on additional shifts and administrative hours as an Assistant Event Coordinator, bartender, or for venue tours and administrative tasks, depending on event volume.
