About The Position

Provide daily support to all in-house group guests, including express groups, catering groups, and meeting planners. Respond to customer inquiries and requests, providing information such as in-house meeting reader board information, convention activities, and location of events.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar position preferred.
  • Delphi or Equivalent Training.
  • Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a resource/advocate for all meeting planners and in-house guests, equipped with current hotel communication means and updated information (daily event sheet, resumes, reader board information, hotel telephone lists, etc.).
  • Direct guests to their designated meeting rooms, providing directional assistance and requested information in person.
  • Be alert and attentive at all times to guests’ needs, understanding that the image projected represents the total hotel.
  • Present a friendly attitude, excellent listening abilities, and pleasant body posture at all times, and be knowledgeable and helpful in assisting guests.
  • Obtain, understand, and utilize daily information including reader board information, daily event sheet, group resumes, BEO’s and Diagrams, arrival/departure manifests, and special arrangements (e.g., VIP arrivals, limo services, guest speakers).
  • Understand confidential group information (BEO’S, pricing, room rate, and guest room numbers).
  • Respond to guest and meeting planner needs in a timely fashion.
  • Follow up with all guests after attending to their problem to ensure the resolution meets their expectations.
  • Communicate all necessary information to hotel departments in a timely and accurate manner via Nextel, email, and/or telephone.
  • Provide a daily report to the Hotel (Recap) of any guest service issues.
  • Provide information on guest services as well as meeting rooms benefits and features (e.g., wireless internet, complimentary cyber café, business center).
  • Be aware of the hotel location in relation to all attractions and have pre-printed directions to the most common asked-about locations.
  • Encourage and promote reservations and visits to hotel outlets by being aware of and recommending "favorite or popular" menu items or offerings, suggestive selling, and creating demand (e.g., filling up fast with this big group in-house I would suggest a reservation etc.).
  • Be aware of hotel fire safety procedures and fire routes.
