About The Position

Groovin' Gourmets, the catering division of Trolley Hospitality Companies, provides chef-crafted meals and catering services for corporate functions, weddings, and social events. The Event Chef supports event food preparation, presentation, and service in fast-paced, guest-facing settings. The role includes setting up kitchen and prep areas, preparing food stations, plating and presenting dishes, serving guests at live action stations, and cleaning and breaking down work areas after events. The position offers flexible scheduling and may suit someone seeking a second job.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of culinary experience in catering, banquets, or a similar setting.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, presentation techniques, and food safety practices.
• Team-focused mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds for extended periods.
• Ability to work in varied environments, including indoor and outdoor event venues.

Responsibilities

• Unload equipment and set up kitchen or prep areas for events.
• Help create visually appealing, organized food and action stations in line with event plans and venue guidelines.
• Plate and present dishes carefully while maintaining quality and presentation standards.
• Work at live action stations, such as carving or pasta stations, and engage professionally with guests.
• Collaborate with the catering team to provide smooth, efficient service throughout events.
• Break down and clean prep areas after events, leaving the venue clean and organized.
