Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must qualify for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission.
  • Must be able to obtain proper Food Handler Certification.
  • Must be able to adjust to non-consistent schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the set up and break down of events.
  • Prepares and serves guests nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages as needed.
  • Enters all orders into micros in a timely manner.
  • Anticipates guests needs.
  • Follows steps of service as outlined in training manual.
  • Totals bill and accepts payment in accordance with all Food and Beverage internal controls.
  • Communicates immediately to the supervisor all guest comments or concerns.
  • Regular participation in scheduled Event Center events is required.
  • Completes any task assigned by supervisor.
  • Adheres to HCCTR as well as all Food and Beverage Policies and service standards.
  • Delivers ACES Guest Service to every guest during every transaction.
  • Enthusiastically supports, actively promotes and demonstrates superior customer service in accordance with department and Company standards and programs.
  • Is committed to consistently delivering the highest quality of food & service to local and international guests in order to ensure repeat visits.
  • Ensures that sanitation in all food & beverage outlets meets and/or exceeds Health Department and OSHA guidelines.
  • Demonstrates and exhibits characteristics and behavior in accordance with Property and Departmental Service Guarantees, and Property Core Values.
  • Maintains professional grooming and appearance and acts as a role model according to established grooming and appearance policy.
  • Maintains valid WV racing license, Food Handlers permit and TIPS certification.
