About The Position

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking a dynamic, service-oriented Event Captain (also referred to in the posting as Banquet Captain). The role is part of a hospitality organization focused on respectful, authentic service and prioritizing the needs of its internal and external stakeholders. The Event Captain is responsible for the performance and supervision of hourly banquet food and beverage servers and serves as a personal representative of the hotel to banquet guests. The position coordinates room and facility setup, including audio/visual and food and beverage arrangements, to support guest satisfaction, division standards, and profit maximization. The position reports directly to the Banquet Manager, Executive Chef, or Food and Beverage Director. Schulte Hospitality Group describes itself as a third-party hospitality management company operating more than 200 locations across 38 states and 3 countries.

Requirements

• Minimum high school education.
• At least one year of experience in a hotel customer service role.
• Ability to provide legible communication and directions.
• Outgoing personality.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally.
• Team-player attitude.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Ability to exceed the expectations of guests and team members.
• Excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the performance of hourly banquet food and beverage servers and represent the hotel to banquet guests.
• Provide ongoing direction, supervision, and monitoring to banquet staff.
• Coordinate room and facility setup, including audio/visual and food and beverage arrangements, to support guest satisfaction, division standards, and profit maximization.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
